Verity

Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.

-Alexander Hamilton

After edit: I realised i have been quite vague in the use of the word verity in this post. I actually do mean the verity of your own principles, what you stand for, and of what you firmly believe in.

What and who do you stand for? Is verity part of your life? Sometimes i cannot care less when i offend someone just because of the principles i hold onto. It BEATS not having principles- deceiving yourself, deceiving everyone around you. Then in the end, you are the one at the losing end. Do you really thing that by being nice and wishy-washy, you can fall short of offending someone? Quit deluding yourselves, pull up your socks, get a life, and do something about it. Because...

Welcome to the real world. Stand for something. I can safely say that i don't have any respect for anyone who doesn't stand for anything. Maybe those with warped verity too (*ahem* like standing for piracy. fuck off la.) You can be 16 or 60. It doesn't give you an excuse not to stand by your principles, or not having any, so to speak. Cos' if verity doesn't even exist in your life, you are alluding to anyone out there that you are nothing but dirt on the ground, waiting to be trampled on. Harsh, no? But reality hurts.

Hurts even more if you float around like a balloon without principles. People won't hate you for sure, but people will look down on you. Will you be able to keep your sanity then?

Not me for sure. I'd go bonky. So why don't you just start kicking some asses with principles of your own to save your sanity? (Who cares who you offend and what people think? As i said, everything is a variable, save for your family, close friends and your faith.)

Be egotistic(not in a superfluous way of course)!
