Today's semi-finals was all about variations. Commisioned work and the 19th century ballet variations. The commisioned piece was... Peculiar... It had 'everything' in it, from double lame ducks, brises, extensions, kicks, contemp etc... 2 girls fell out of 40 something of them, and of these 2, one also forgot steps and looked totally lost... The ballet variations were much better. So many of them did La Bayadere's 3rd shade variation, including Min Yi, so it was hard to stand out. Finalists have been chosen, but we didn't stay to witness the announcement. I still don't know, but i'm dying to know... I'm rooting from contestents 2, 7, 18, 28, 29, 37, 44 and 55. :)

We had a first rehearsal with the 'big guy'. Everyone was so nervous! All the stupid things we did, like not being able to balance even with both feet on the ground, dropping the leg in attitude etc. Tsk. I'm wearing the nude leo under my costume, so no more worrying! But a few petals are still peeking out... *sigh* I'm so lazy and bad at sewing the trimmings on... *pfft* Had to remove the stitches on one side because they were too loose. I'll need double-sided tape to tape the trimmings to my straps cos' i can't be bothered to sew them lengthwise...

I can sleep in tomorrow!!! yay! Need to buy more retainers for Elena because i keep losing the backings... And will prolly shop around in town too. Having technical rehearsal at Victoria Theatre!
