UAE I

Photos in chronological order, starting with the classic 'wing plus cloud' shot:

Pathetically empty SQ plane. SQ is really overrated. I've taken it quite a few times, and i've never been impressed. The inflight entertainment was so bad, i didn't use it AT ALL. All i did the whole 7 hours was sleep and read Mitch Albom's Have a Little Faith while listening to my iPod.

Mum and I at Dubai Mall with the Dubai Aquarium in the background. We haven't explored that though.

Sam and I with H&M in the background. We spent a lot of time and $ there. :\

In the cab we booked for the whole day.

On the 1 hour trip back home from Dubai. Sunset! :)

The rays of sunlight are REAL. Not photoshopped at all! Amazing!

The view from Dad's apartment with my usual travelling companion- Slumber. Dad's apartment and workplace is on Yas Island off Abu Dhabi. The serviced apartments are very near to the Abu Dhabi F1 circuit!

Dad stocked up SO much food. Partially cos' we're coming.

Living room.

Dad's room.

Kitchen.

I like this one! This is my Pizzario Sub. "That One" was actually what i was calling my sub as the guy was doing for both Sam and I.

Hello Kitty madness!!! I spent S$80+ on these. :)

My suede wedge booties from H&M. It's costs only about S$70+, and is damn comfy! My 1st pair of actual boots! ;)

I bought this cute organic cotton bag.

H&M top: Cowl-neck like top. Disgusting undereye shadows. Can see my new eyebrows here...

H&M cardigan: I love the details!!!

H&M: Shirt which looks very 'British India', and my 1st high-waisted skirt with my booties. Love 'em!!! The skirt is surprisingly comfy. I think it's velour material... OMFG. I'm so fucking fat...

That's all for Day 2 of UAE. We're staying in Abu Dhabi tomorrow for sightseeing. Just on Day 2, i've spent close to S$300. *hmm* We got out X'mas prezzies from Dad! He got us Skagen watches(BEAUTIFUL and thin!) and a Mango watch. Haha. He's watch lover- he went watch crazy cos' of the discounts here.

Some UAE trivia:

It's supposedly very safe here. Stealing/pickpocketing will result in dire consequences(i think they 'break' or 'chop-off' the offending hand'. So we feel quite safe, but still on our guard.

It's diverse here- people from many countries are everywhere, from Chinese to Filipinas, from Pakistanis to Indians.

The money here is weird- the notes' denominations are only printed on 1 side. Very aggravating when counting money. The coins have NO denominations as it might have been printed in their script. OMG. Tough man...

Dubai Mall is like a shopaholic's haven! There're so many labels that isn't in SG- Oscar de la Renta, Dsquared, Alberta Ferrati, H&M, Aeropostale etc!!! Coach is SO expensive here, and Longchamp is only marginally cheaper than HK.

We've, or rather I, have been getting a lot of stares from men here. And it's scary staring. Makes me kinda scared. We got followed by a guy who saw us outside Sanrio while i was holding Mum's handphone. Sam and U intended to go La Senza ourselves, but we decided not to because we felt he might do something to either us or Mum. Followed us for a good deal, and then we lost him, prolly cos' the security guard was behind us. SCARY...

My eyebrows are looking better, even if it's only Day 3. :) I love how it's turning out, and i think that $400 is money well-spent. ;)
