I saw my rheumy yesterday, like finally! I was hoping so badly that the blood drawn on the previous day would at least yield a higher than normal ESR because it almost felt like a good day. But i didn't want my doc to think i'm fine already because i'm not. So hah! It was up to 35! Not the highest, but high enough. Biologic therapy delayed AGAIN because she wants me to see MSW(oh man!), which i really think is pointless because of dadmum's income... Oh wells. It's another 9 more looooooooong weeks till i see her again! *pfft* So in the meantime, i'm hoping for some relief. If not i definitely want to start on Remicade or something when i see her in September. C'mon! It's been too long since my RA got active again!!! Because low-dose steroids(and since i'm anti-steroids) and COX 2 inhibitors, plus other painkillers like tramadol are not working, she reluctantly put me on diclofenac, though i'm 'allergic' to ibuprofen, just to try our luck with supressing pain and inflammation. (It's funny how my 'brush with death' when i was a baby was not properly documented when a some 'junior doctor' speculated that ibuprofen caused my episode of thrombocytopenia, albeit the doubts of the professors. And hence my rheumy can't find any record! So yes they pasted a red sticker, but they queried it with a convenient question mark.) The pharmacist was so very reluctant to dispense it to me because of my allergy. But anyhow, i took it twice today, and safe to say, i'm not dead. Nor did i experience any anaphylatic reactions. It's quite a good NSAID in my opinion, but not perfect. ;)
Next 9 weeks of hell- 2 weeks of school with 5 projects to be completed/presented, 4 weeks of clinicals, 1-2 weeks of semestral exams. Good luck girl. I can only hope that this stupid RA of mine doesn't exacerbate any further!!!
